Ingredients
- Jumbo lump crab cake from Costco
- 1 large onion sliced thin
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp anise / fennel seeds
- 5 whole cloves
- 10 whole peppercorn
- 1 piece of mace
- 2 tsp coriander powder
- 2 tsp Eastern Fish Masala powders
- 1 tbsp Ginger Garlic paste
- 1 tsp tomato paste or 1 chopped tomato
- Fresh or frozen grated coconut
- Curry leaves
Method
- Add two tablespoons of coconut oil to a pan and heat on medium high
- Add cumin seeds, fennel seeds, cloves, peppercorns, & mace and roast for 5 mins on medium
- Increase heat and add the onions and roast for 10 mins
- Add ginger garlic paste and roast for another 5 – 10 mins
- Add coriander powder and fish masala powders, lower heat to medium and cook till oil separates – 10 mins
- Add tomato paste or chopped tomatoes and saute it all for the next 10 – 15 mins
- Add grated coconut and saute for another 10 mins
- Keep adding water per required consistency
- Let it cool
- Grind in food processor to a fine paste
- Heat a little oil in a pan and toss in the curry leaves
- Add the masala paste
- Saute for 10 mins
- Add the crab and stir it all together
- Cook for another 10 mins
